Team members
- Bárbara Pereira - Lead of Operational Technology Cybersecurity
I work at Galp for 5 years now and my current role in GALP is Lead of Operational Technology Cybersecurity. Within GALP's IT department and reporting to the Head of Cybersecurity, this role area has the mission to support the teams responsible for Operational Technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS) to incorporate Cyber Security in these environments, acquiring visibility and capacity to monitor cyber-threats, as well as implementing mechanisms of protection. As an environmental engineer, Galp gave me the opportunity to discover other areas inside the company and that lead me to the Cybersecurity area where I am one of the Leads. So, Galp gives the opportunity to their workers to work in a healthy environment and to switch to other areas of the company if the worker has that need. It invests a lot in training, technologies, new areas and has a lot of challenges on a daily basis

In other words, this area leads all the Data Engineering, DataOps and MLOps activities in GALP. Being a lover of the data area, Galp gave me the opportunity to work with the best professionals, in a state-of-the-art technological environment in order to implement all kinds of data use cases, eventually, all use cases that you can imagine in this area. Working at Galp is to be constantly forced to leave my comfort zone, either by technological or business challenges. I am Fernando Velasco, I’ve worked at Galp for 2 years and a half, and I am part of Center of Excellence (CoE) of Data, Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, being responsible for Artificial Intelligence area. As part of this CoE, I look for innovative solutions to accomplish my duties and make data available for Business areas, not just making things happen but ensuring that solutions have the best quality. As responsible for the Artificial Intelligence area I am used to working with Machine Learning models, chatbots or Computer Vision products, analyzing benefits to apply them at Galp. Working at Galp is first of all challenging, new ideas are coming up every day, and solutions must follow these ideas, always with an out-of-the-box mindset to implement them.
