Unlocking tech talent stories

João Frazão is a proud software developer at Volkswagen Digital Solutions, a job he *landed* through Landing.Jobs. We’re always really proud of the people who start or upgrade their careers with our help, so we’ve asked João to tell us a bit about what his recruiting experience was like and what it’s been like at his job at Volkswagen DS.

Landing at Landing (pun intended)

One of the things that led João to us was our social media presence and, in a later stage, the *amazing* Landing.Festival. It was through that event that João started to become more aware and curious about the tech careers market and the job opportunities we had to offer.

After the bait was set, João attended some meetups we organized with Volkswagen DS where he had the chance to learn more about the company. It was there that he found out he shared the same mindset as them and appreciated the work culture they were trying to create.

Navigating through the job opportunities section we have on our platform was one of the things he praised the most. For João, the winner is our job search filters. We currently allow candidates to search by location, location type (remote, onsite, partially remote), skills, tech profile categories, contract type, language, experience level, salary range, and more. It allowed João to focus on the opportunities that fit him.

In the span of 2 or 3 weeks, he landed a job as a software developer at Volkswagen DS. Et voilá!

Landing at Volkswagen DS

Accepting an offer there was simple for João. He had found out that they shared the same mindset and values, and during the recruitment process and meetups he also found he was in line with their technology stacks. After receiving a proposal that met his expectations, the decision was easy.

(…)I had the feeling that I found what I was looking for. A company with a really cool environment and culture, a good team to work in, really nice colleagues and a technology stack where I can add my experience and also gain more knowledge. — João Frazão

According to João, Covid-19 has had a deep effect on the company way of working, as the case in so many other companies, which has proved to be a challenge for everyone.

For him, “remote-first” opportunities will gain more strength and we have to agree. This is something that’s already being noticed across industries, but especially in the tech industry, and it’s somenthing predictable to continue in the future.

I was not planning to work in a remote mode for next years (I like the interaction with people in person a lot) but the Covid situation has changed the reality and for sure a lot of companies will become “remote first” from here on. It will be a big challenge for me to fit this reality in my expectations for the future.

When asked if he would recommend Landing.Jobs to a friend:

Definitely. I would tell him that it’s the best platform to find good and challenging opportunities. The offer of partners that Landing.Jobs already has, plus the filter that you do in terms of matching our profiles with the jobs characteristics, makes it easy to find the opportunities we really fit.

Thanks João, not only for giving us your testimonial, but for opening up about the challenges of the future.

Check out the current job opportunities we have on our platform, one might just be perfect for you 🙂 Don’t be overwhelmed by the almost 600 we have, filter away like João did and you’ll find the ones that match you. And if you fancy working at Volkswagen DS alongside João, they are recruiting for more than 10 positions.

Matching You with Your Future!
