This week, the news broke that Katherine Johnson died. You don’t know who Katherine was? She was later portrayed in the 2016 hit film “Hidden Figures”, being a mathematician who calculated rocket trajectories and earth orbits for NASA’s early space missions. Essentially, she is one of the “computers” who solved equations by hand during NASA’s early years. In times, where a great percentage of the news is about Coronavirus, let’s not forget the people that helped us get here. Nonetheless, let’s get to the main news in Tech:
Yes, you read it right. Google is using machine learning techniques to help with some of the tasks in the design process. More specifically with the placement of IP blocks on an ASIC and the routing between them, but if you want more details just click the link above. It’s awesome that we’re changing from using AI to simply win a game like Chess or Go, to build things, isn’t it?
If you don’t know who Tim Berners-Lee is, you probably won’t have that much interest in this blog post. Nonetheless, you can always google this Sir and get to know him. He is one of the responsible people for you to be able to read this. Now, together with Bruce Schneier, another technology genius, they’re building something new.
