One more week has gone by. This time, I’m WFH times 2, meaning “writing from home” while “working from home”. The current outbreak arrived in Portugal and we’re now doing our best to win this fight. Since lots of people are WFH as well, we want to start this edition of Landing.Tech by suggesting a couple of advice on WFH. Just click here. But, not as always we try to bring you the most important things that happened around technology in the world, so let’s get straight to it:
Quantum Computing is coming sooner or later, and we can’t be sure right now if they’re telling the truth. But their explanation seems logical. Instead of using superconducting qubits like IBM and Google, Honeywell uses ion traps that are more accurate and can hold their quantum state for longer periods. What’s your view on this?
It’s a years-long top-secret project, but the company wants to help fight the weeklong illness that costs $40 billion every year. The project code name is “Project Gesundheit”, and it has a small team working on a treatment for the world’s most common illness. In times where viruses are our current thoughts, wouldn’t it be nice if in a couple of months we could never ever have to face colds again?
If you’re not aware, ByteDance is the maker of TikTok. They’re currently the world’s most valuable startup and they’re planning to join the collaboration tools market really soon. In times where remote working is on the news and with their already known and successful products may we be witnessing the rise of another Giant Tech Company?
In uncertain times it’s everyone’s responsibility to help fight this virus. Let’s be conscious that if we’re not part of the groups with bigger risk, we should aim not to be part of the transmission chain of the virus as well. Let’s show the world we’re the makers of futures.
The future starts today.
