<!--block-->Role description and responsibilities<!--block-->As a Senior AI Engineer at WE ARE META, you will be matched with clients across diverse sectors of the tech industry. You will work in a fully remote model, building and maintaining advanced AI systems in production environments. The role involves designing and engineering LLM-based applications, building agentic systems end-to-end — systems that plan, write code, validate their own output, and improve over time — and working with modern orchestration frameworks and cloud data platforms.<!--block-->

  • <!--block-->6+ years of professional experience as an AI Engineer or in a similar role
  • <!--block-->Strong production software engineering skills: Python, testing, packaging, CI/CD, async, REST, and Docker
  • <!--block-->AI SDLC experience in production environments
  • <!--block-->Real depth in LLM application engineering: prompt design, function calling, structured outputs, RAG, vector stores, and experience with the Anthropic and OpenAI APIs
  • <!--block-->Experience building agentic systems end-to-end: systems that plan, write code, validate their own output, and improve over time
  • <!--block-->Familiarity with the orchestration landscape (LangGraph, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, CrewAI) and opinionated about when a thin custom harness beats a framework
  • <!--block-->Working fluency with at least one cloud data platform and SQL
  • <!--block-->Fluency in English (at least a B2 level)
  • <!--block-->Must be based in Portugal with Portuguese or EU citizenship, or a valid work permit
