Description
en 🐙 Octo Health is hiring a Junior AI Engineer (React Native)8 arms, 1 app, and a lot of AI agents to play with
About the company:Right now, your health data lives in 4 hospitals, 3 apps and a PDF your doctor emailed you in 2019. Octo fixes that.Octo is personal health infrastructure: a longitudinal health memory that brings all your exams, results, symptoms and medical records into one secure place, owned by you. So every doctor visit actually means something. Not another health tracking app, but the foundation for a new relationship between people and their health data.
About the role:Octo is looking for the kind of engineer who opens Claude Code before opening Slack. You’ll join a small founding tech team to build their React Native app, and you won’t just use AI to code faster: you’ll build features on top of AI, from agents to prompt-driven workflows and intelligent automation inside the product.
Fair warning: this is a startup. No 47-page onboarding manual, no Jira ticket for every comma. If that sounds stressful, this isn’t your place. If it sounds fun, keep reading.
What you’ll do:
Is this you?
Bonus: an app published on the App Store or Google Play, projects using LLM APIs or agent frameworks (LangChain, MCP, etc.), any cloud exposure (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Engineer first, AI-curious always; React Native is where you want to grow?
Let’s talk. 🚀

What you’ll do:
- Build and ship features in the React Native app, for iOS and Android;
- Experiment with AI agents and LLM-powered features, and turn the ones that work into real product;
- Curate AI outputs into clean, maintainable code (not spaghetti with good intentions);
- Learn from senior engineers who actually have time to mentor you;
- Step in wherever needed. Adaptability is the job.
Is this you?
- A recent graduate or master’s graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar;
- 0-2 years of experience (internships, academic and side projects all count);
- Hands-on React Native experience you can show (a personal app, thesis project, internship work);
- JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals are valued;
- Real curiosity about AI: you’ve played with LLM APIs, built a small agent, or at least have strong opinions on Cursor vs Claude Code;
- Startup mindset: ownership, speed and comfort with not having every answer on day one;
- Fluent English.
Bonus: an app published on the App Store or Google Play, projects using LLM APIs or agent frameworks (LangChain, MCP, etc.), any cloud exposure (AWS, GCP, Azure).
