Damn, it’s hot outside. Summer is definitely here, and the Out-of-Office emails are back again. Is it only me that deep inside hates to receive out of office emails? Thanks a lot for the information, but I’m currently trying to do my work by emailing you and you straight away say to my face that you’re on holiday? I don’t feel like that’s appropriate at all. But let’s stop the OoO emails rant and get straight to Tech:
First and foremost, in our last edition, we wrote about the Twitter hack. Well, a couple of weeks later it seems the attackers might have been identified. At least three people were charged and a Florida teen is in jail. The 17-year-old is accused of being the mastermind behind the hack, and if he’s a cybersecurity genius he has a chance to end up working for the US government or other institutional entities there. Let’s wait for more developments here.
I really miss playing football with friends so every time I see any sort of news article, that could mean the return to the “old” normal (I’m not that much into the new, except with the full remote working model I love), I can’t resist the need to click. Technically speaking, genetic data mining research was used to uncover a possible breakthrough. Read the article if you want those details.
Named Ingenuity, the helicopter is part of the fifth rover that NASA has launched to Mars and the mission is clear: collect samples of Martian dirt that might have traces of ancient life. Ingenuity could become the first spacecraft to go airborne on Mars. I know the race to the moon was not in my generation, but this is pretty great nonetheless!
This edition means I’m back from my holiday (I was actually back last week) and I also left my OoO email — shame. But believe it or not, we’ve been doing this for 8 months straight next Monday. A round of applause for us, please. Thank you and see you next week.
The future starts today.
