Unlocking tech talent stories

December 15, 2022

This is for the remote tech workers in Lisbon, whether you are here living full-time or just passing by for a day, week or month maybe. If you’re looking for a spot to work – and, in the meantime, meet some new professionals – you might want to read this because we made you a list of the best coworking spaces in Lisbon for you to code.

The cat is out of the bag, and for quite some time now, it’s no secret that Portugal has made the list as one of the WFH (work-from-home) destinations of choice. And the Portuguese capital is one of the elected places for remote workers from all over the world.

Apart from the usual commonplaces, such as the weather, the food, the safety conditions, the affordable living costs or the time zone compatibility, Portugal has so much to offer (the new digital nomad visa and the tax benefits the country offers to remote workers playing a big role on this), and that’s why so many remote workers are packing their things and moving here, namely to Lisbon, which has become quite popular in the tech scene and among remote workers. Many say that the sunny Portuguese capital has one of the most welcoming vibes and a quite vibrant remote community. Here you’ll have access to advanced infrastructure, good transport networks, and several workspaces for you to work.

The coworking culture has been on the rise for a while now in Portugal, and due to the remote culture arising, there are now loads of coworking spaces and cafes to work in.

To make your life easier (as usual) we gathered a full list of coworking spaces and cafes in Lisbon where you’ll be able to work, meet new people and even grab a cup of coffee or a great meal.

The top 5 coworking spaces in Lisbon

1. Impact Hub

With over 110 coworking locations around the globe, Impact Hub is one of the top coworking spaces in Lisbon. Located in the Carris Museum complex, the Impact Hub Lisbon is the home for several entrepreneurs, start-ups, innovators, and remote workers, who – apart from making an impact – are (also) looking to meet new professionals and establish meaningful connections. The space features a large open-plan workspace with natural light and private booths, as well as essential amenities (wi-fi, air conditioning, cleaning facilities, security, or admin services), thus offering the perfect spot to work. The membership plans offered by the Impact Hub start at 35€ per month.

Talk about premium coworking spaces in Lisbon, and Second Home comes to light. Located on the first floor of the Time Out Market, this is considered to be one of the most charming spots on this list. Aside from being located on a 19th Century building full of character, the space was designed to mimic nature, following the biophilia principles to promote mental well-being, inspire, relax, and connect with its visitors. The design also includes curvy desks, loads of natural light, and see-through rooftops. Call it an office with a vibe.

Among the offered amenities, you can count on high-speed private internet, Unlimited printing and scanning, meeting rooms, in-house Café La Dispensa, or event space. the studio membership (the lowest one) starts at €365 + VAT PM (per member).

3. Resvés Cowork Space

Call it a hidden gem. The Resvés Cowork Space is good both for companies or digital nomads who are looking for a calm and homely space to work. Even the name has its mystique. Resvés in Portuguese means something like “just about”; this is related to the Lisbon earthquake and tsunami in 1755. The place is located in Campo de Ourique, “just a 5-minute walk from the buzzing Rato, the beautiful Estrela Park, and various great restaurants”, as you can read on their website. Well, this is a hilly location, and the tsunami reached the limits of the neighbourhood. Pretty close, or as they say, “resvés”.

This is one of the top coworking spaces in Lisbon, not only because of the vibes and location but because it offers 24-hour access, two bicycles for sharing, a catamaran net to relax in, and a wonderful lounge, and kitchen area to drink your coffee.

This place is all about flexibility and affordable prices. The Hot Desk membership (perfect for freelancers) starts at 22€ (prices do not include taxes).

4. Avila Spaces

This is another go-to when talking about Coworking Spaces in Lisbon. Avila Spaces has two locations in the city. One is in Avenida da República, top central, just across the metro station, and the other one is at the Atrium Saldanha. With a cool vibe, the space presents itself as “beautifully and ergonomically furnished for an unforgettable experience”.

Whether you prefer a hot desk or a Flexi desk is up to you, but either way, you’ll be able to benefit from the amenities offered by this coworking space, namely: a coworking business lounge, virtual office app, dedicated phone line, locker, and 24×7 phone answering services (depending on the package you choose).

The day rate packages start at 50€ per day.
