Candidate experience should be at the core of every recruitment process. That is the only way to make sure candidates really get to know the companies they’re applying for, and companies find the best people in the most effective way.
Yet these processes can take long and be very exhausting. It is therefore essential to have constant touchpoints to discuss the status of applications and manage expectations on both sides.
We noticed some of you — handling the recruitment processes — were having a hard-time keeping up with these tasks and ended up postponing some decisions, without giving feedback to candidates. A candidate without any news from a company will eventually get discouraged and move on, following through with other job opportunities. For companies, this may mean losing a perfectly good candidate and wasting a great source of quality inbound referrals as “95% of the candidates who had a positive experience would refer others to apply”.
After working on our chat, allowing companies and candidates to communicate better, we’ve developed this feature to help employers keep track of their engagement with candidates: Applications Expiration.
Your applications will now have an expiration date according to how long it’s been since you last interacted with them. From the moment these applications first arrive on the Inbox, you have exactly 30 days to either move them along the process or reject them.
Once companies pass the applications into “In Process”, they can be left waiting for updates for up to 45 days. After that period, applications will be automatically rejected, forwarding the following message to candidates:
“[%company%] is not proceeding with Application Processes at the moment.”
But — don’t worry — it won’t come without a notice!
It’ll start with a tag on the dashboard next to the application in question counting down the days until its expiration. You will also receive the details of the expiring applications along with your Weekly Report. Finally, an individual alert email will be sent per each application expiring in a period of 2 days. Manage these notifications here.
In case there’s a specific issue delaying a recruitment process and you want to prevent your applications from expiring, all you have to do is get in touch with your point of contact at Landing.jobs and we’ll make sure you get the time needed! We’re all humans, we can work it out together!
Companies which have their ATS integrated with us are excluded from this process, and their applications will not expire.
On February 4th, 2019 we’ll start the clock, meaning we’ll begin counting the days the applications have been hanging on your pipeline, waiting for your next move. In the meantime, feel free to reach out to us for any further explanation on how this feature works.
Let’s get this process moving!
