Senior FinTech Project Manager
We are looking for a senior project manager with experience delivering SaaS software projects for the financial industry. The ideal candidate knows enough about the technology to be able to describe a microservice architecture, and its pros and cons. The candidate should also have experience of structured products, PRIIP and MiFID II regulations.
The project manager will be expected to work closely with senior management and others to facilitate effective and efficient delivery of the project backlog. Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent understanding of how the derivatives industry operates, be able to clearly identify the specific needs and requirements of various clients, translate those requirements into a well-defined execution plan and actively monitor, track and report on progress. They will play a key role in communicating between internal departments and help the organization to develop and implement its services and products to meet goals with both internal and external stakeholders.
We are looking for a permanent candidate to work on-site at our Canary Wharf office, and while we offer some flexibility with remote working, this role is office based.
You should be a hard-working, organised and meticulous individual who pays attention to detail. You should have a fairly high technical understanding, as well as being a clear communicator, a good listener, able to communicate professionally and clearly with clients, and internal technical and non-technical team members. You should be able to work carefully under pressure, and expected to take full ownership of project delivery.
You should be familiar with the challenges faced when building highly available, performant and scalable web applications. You need to have the seniority to ask the right questions, organise developers workstreams effectively, and prioritise properly across multiple areas of the project and across multi-skilled technical teams.
Work with external and internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and priorities to ensure timely and efficient implementation;
Communicate these requirements and priorities to internal senior management clearly and work alongside senior management to merge individual client requirements into cross-client prioritization and delivery plan;
Clearly communicate timelines and ETA's with clients and keep them regularly updated on progress;
Ensure that deadlines are adhered to and manage client expectations in the event that this is not possible;
Investigate client feedback into the service/function/product provided;
Gain agreement, from senior management, of the best method of introducing your recommendations to the business;
Produce written documentation to support your work, report on your findings and to present to stakeholders when necessary;
Support the staff and teams in making the recommended changes, including helping to resolve any issues;
Ability to understand the derivatives market and communicate clearly with clients on complex issues
Good understanding of how structured products are financially constructed
Very good analytical and organizational skills
The ability to work under pressure on multiple projects within different project timeframes;
Flexible and ability to adapt to change priorities and/or requirements
A good understanding of information technology and preferably experience of systems that use XML, JSON and REST APIs
Detail oriented and accurate
Self-motivated and pro-active attitude
Proficiency in Microsoft word, excel, power point, internet and email with excellent typing skills
Ability to work in a team and motivate others
Willingness to learn new things with an enthusiastic attitude
