In 2018 Volkswagen Group Services – Portugal, as a brand, will start operations from new Lisbon based offices. Job profile

  • Responsible for developing and implementing user stories for the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Perform operational activities and close coordination with other operations teams
  • Act as communication interface within the IT as well as other departments
  • Develop and optimize our development platform with a focus on increasing efficiency and availability
  • Analyze systems as well as optimize and automate processes
  • Support in-house software development in their tools and processes as part of DevOps services
  • Collaborate with software development and operations teams
  • 3rd level support of our development infrastructure and platform
  • Provide operating systems and configuration management as well as develop efficient system monitoring

Main requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or related knowledge area, or comparable job expertise
  • Experience with the use and integration of cloud services such as infrastructure-as-code, use of PaaS, micro services architectures, continuous delivery
  • Experience with cloud computing, especially IaaS, CaaS and PaaS, preferably with AWS, or Linux-based workloads and services on Google Cloud or Azure.
  • Experience in developing, testing and maintaining highly available automated cloud-based platforms, based on PaaS services, container run-time with Docker and/or container Orchestration with Kubernetes or Mesos
  • Experience in building, operating, deploying and maintaining complex IT infrastructures including application servers, web servers, proxy servers, SSO, CDN, firewalls, network zone concepts, monitoring and configuration management
  • Very good knowledge in software development, at least in one programming language
  • Very good knowledge in Linux system administration
  • Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Github/Gitlab, Jenkins, and Artifactory
  • Mindset of an early adopter who gets enthusiastic about digital products and business models with a focus on cloud technologies
  • Ability to creatively solve problems with an high awareness for quality and to think outside the box and overcome roadblocks
  • Result-oriented and communicative team player
  • Very good English skills, both written and spoken

  • Knowledge of automation tools such as Chef, Puppet or Ansible
