Torsion is looking to recruit a focussed and ambitious backend .NET engineer to play a pivotal role with innovating the shape and future direction of our award-winning product solution. You will be part of a small engineering team who is tasked with meeting the demanding growth needs of the business as we integrate with more cloud and on-premise information systems.

Our C# microservices handle millons of files and data points every day, indexing third party services such as Office 365 and SMB file shares in order to analyse, process and help remediate security vunerabilities in our customer's collaboration systems. In 2020 we're going to be expanding rapidly, you will be the first of those engineering hires and you'll be working directly with the CTO on integrating with new information systems, building our machine learning capabilities and constantly innovating and improving on our capabilities. 

Torsion is a VC backed start-up who have changed the way Data Access Governance is delivered. Working closely with the Microsoft Security & Compliance team, Torsion is building a world class best of breed product that gets delivered through an international network of partnerships.

Main requirements

  • Strong enterprise experience in C# (.NET Framework 4.6)
  • Strong knowledge of Entity Framework and T-SQL
  • Experience in the use of third-party APIs within .NET at scale
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, both for source control and CI
  • Experience in the use and administration of Microsoft Azure (including but not limited to VMSS, Azure SQL, App Services and Azure Redis)

Nice to have

  • Experience with .NET Core
  • Proficiency in developing against OAuth protected resources
  • Theoretical or working knowledge of data science and machine learning concepts
  • Knowledge of developing against Office 365
  • Familiarity of performance analysis/tuning tools such as JetBrains dotTrace
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell
