We’ve partnered with the most successful e-commerce retailers including El Corte Inglés, Toys R Us, Fnac and Leroy Merlin in over 25 countries around the world. We opened a new office in Lisbon in the summer of 2016 and we’re looking for the very best to jump on board.

Job Description

We are looking for a Data Engineer with experience in designing, transforming and scaling DataBase systems operating vast datasets. We offer the world leading e-commerce brands unique services which rely heavily on high quality data and complex queries. As a Data Engineer you have the opportunity to deliver single-handedly great impact across all our customers globally. Working across all departments internally you will own and lead the data transformation initiatives, power new data driven solutions and empower our Analytics team who deliver valuable insights directly extracted from our data stream. Previous experience in e-commerce, SaaS, data analysis, databases and AI will be a huge plus.


  • Integration of various data sources into our platform

  • Managing distributed databases

  • Development of analytical tools for data processing

  • Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code

  • Design and implementation of low-latency, high-performance queries

  • Implementation of security and data protection

  • Responsible for scalability decisions and actions related to the back-end of our system

  • Optimization of code and queries

Main requirements

  • Strong proficiency with SQL, noSQL

  • AWS cloud computing experience (EC2, S3, DynamoDB, ...)

  • Extensive experience designing data driven applications

  • Extensive experience writing and optimising queries

  • Good understanding of server-side testing

  • Understanding accessibility and security compliance

  • User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments

  • Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system

  • Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application

  • Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Python, Java, R, Node.js Javascript
  • Good commercial experience with MongoDB
