PayAsUGym is starting a development centre in Oporto and we are looking for a Lead Developer to help us creating and managing our new team. About this role:

Our platform is essential in every aspect of our business. The system is designed, developed and maintained by us and we work every day to make it even better. Our growing team is very versatile and effective. We work according to the principles of Agile methodologies such as SCRUM and Lean Start-up in projects that tend to last no longer than two weeks.

Your daily life will be focused on two components: half of your time will be committed to recruiting and managing a team of developers while the other half will be committed to projecting and implementing new features or improving existing ones.

Main requirements

What you need to have:

  • Advanced knowledge in OOP, specifically in PHP
  • Master level in MySQL
  • Experience in high volume environments and complex architectures
  • 2+ years of experience with frameworks such as Symfony, Zend 2 or Yii
  • Knowledge of JavaScript libraries such as jQuery
  • Git
  • Experienced in Agile environments
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)

Nice to have

  • Experience in Domain Modeling
  • Knowledge of noSQL, unitary tests and web-services (SOAP, REST)
