Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a professional services (PS) engineer that can help our customers build mission critical applications on top of our repository.

Our PS engineers are patient, communicative and confident java developers that roll-up their sleeves and do what it needs to be done to translate customer needs into optimal solutions.

A day in the job can include coding and de-bugging, participation in the development our platform, customer training and implementation of a new feature on customer site. Pretty damn busy!

What are the responsibilities:

  • Organize the bootstrap phase of complex projects
  • Be the technical contact for customer's development team regarding Nuxeo Platform skills
  • Coach customer development teams
  • Estimate complexity of business requirements
  • Analyze backlog priorities and be critical with regards to technical "common sense"
  • Implement custom front-end or back-end modules for the customer
  • Provide valuable feedback to the platform team for improving the product

What is the basic toolkit:

  • Java for the server side: OSGi like framework with extension points and service patterns
  • JavaScript for the client side: Polymer 2 (Web Components), jQuery, AngularJS
  • Redis, Elasticsearch
  • AWS
  • Maven, Ansible
  • Custom test runner
  • NoSQL / MongoDB

Main requirements

  • Strong experience in Java, with ambition to produce clean and lean code
  • Demonstrable skills in the toolkit
  • At least 1 year of experience
  • Ability to take initiative and responsibility - we're a growing company, so everyone pitches in!
  • Customer facing experience
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Portuguese
  • Committed attitude to work and team
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and openness to work holistically

Nice to have

  • Working knowledge of QA processes
  • Ability to function with a certain degree of creative chaos – that actually comes from everyone pitching in, in the first place ;)
  • Knowledge of Project Management
  • Taste for multi-tasking and getting around – you can expect occasional travel to clients and our offices in London, Tokyo, Paris, New York and Silicon Valley!
