As a QA Engineer

  • You are going to be our expert and end responsible for the quality of our full cloud Payroll & HR software product.
  • You start your day monitoring and analyzing the quality metrics and act on it. You have quantified these metrics and the quality level for the Nmbrs software and are here to keep them thrive.
  • You look at your agenda and you have the QA scrum coming up. Here, together with your peers, you will tackle topics like: design / implement the overall testing strategy and approach for Nmbrs, optimize QA activities and tools to support the continuous delivery or how to improve our automated tests, environments and frameworks. When there is no prior created test automation framework you will be using your programming skills to build it.

Your Squad

After this you lead the QA activities in your own product squad.

  • Your squad is responsible for their own set of modules and with 4 main roles ( dev, qa, support consultant, po):
  • You will be involved in the complete software cycle ( kick-offs, backlog grooming, estimation, planning, design test plans, prepare and execute automated tests and document results).
  • Develop and maintain automated tests with the developers;
  • Increase the test coverage of new and existing automation tests;
  • Analyze test results and give feedback to the Software Development Engineers;
  • Found a bug? help with analyzing and debugging.
  • Influence and encourage developers to embrace agile testing tools and practices throughout the development and release process;
  • Manual testing fixes where automation is not possible.

Your team

We work with autonomous cross-functional agile squads and teams (peer-groups). The QA team is end responsible for the testing and the quality level of our full working software. We strongly believe in autonomy and provide a support system to new employees. You will have a Mentor/Buddy assigned to you plus agile coaches available to support squads and teams to make this approach succeed.

Main requirements

We are looking for you if you own these hard skills:

  • At least 6 years of experience
  • You are passionate about automation and releasing quality software: and bring this to the Nmbrs team.
  • You have worked with a product throughout the full life cycle: this is key!
  • You have been responsible for selecting, implementing and maintaining test automation frameworks.
  • You have experience with GitHub or Mercurial.
  • You have proven experience with continuous Integration servers (e.g. teamcity, jenkins) and QA automation tools, e.g. jMeter, Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, etc.
  • You have experience withweb-basedd applications.
  • You know about ISTQB certification or similar.
  • You have a good understanding of the software development process (agile surrounding and/or with multiple autonomous working teams).
  • You have knowledge of test methods like unit, acceptance, integration and regression testing.
  • You are interested in newest testing tools and knowledge of test automation
  • Your communication skills in English are on a professional level, Dutch or Portuguese is a nice to have
  • You have enjoyed training en instructing testers and developers

Some extra checks

We already have received a lot of applications from "software testers & test engineers". We are very honered by it - but we are looking for candidates with hands-on automation experience next to the testing. Your experience in a SME setting and end responsibility on a full product life cycle is what we look for.
