Nmbrs® started out as a payroll administration office and shifted focus towards building efficient HR and payroll software with the employees best in mind. Nmbrs® strongly believes that the employee is a company's most important asset and needs to be served well. Nmbrs works with autonomous cross-functional agile squads and teams (peer-groups). You are going to be a member of the Infra squad.

A workweek at Nmbrs

Every morning you start your day with checking the monitors, logs and the 24/7 channel and act on it.

Then you join the daily stand-up where you connect with your colleagues from the other location and you coordinate on the priorities and sprint goal. You responsibilities will cover:

  • Set-up, implement, maintain and provision our IT infrastructure and the delivery pipeline;
  • Collaborate with the other teams to apply and improve infrastructure guidelines and your squad members on solutions of new projects;
  • Ensure the infrastructure stays scalable and stable;
  • Monitor and maintain the performance and escalate appropriately;
  • You offer support for other squads for infrastructure related issues;
  • Contribute to application deployments.
  • Contact with infrastructure partners

Twice a week you will attend your squad meets: the planning and the retrospectives. On your request and depending on the seniority of the team, these meetings can/will be attended by your agile coach to help your squad constantly improve.

Main requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science or a strong technical background
  • Proven experience of cloud, analytics, and databases, preferably based on several years of industry experience
  • Networking (Routing, Firewalls, VPN, etc)
  • Azure
  • Microsoft server environments
  • SQL Server administrators
  • Scripting for automation
  • Experience or interest in the software development process (agile surrounding and/or with multiple autonomous working teams).
  • English is a must, Dutch or Portuguese is a nice to have

Nice to have

  • A Microsoft certification 70-533: implementing Azure infrastructure Solutions is a plus
  • Team player that actively likes to help his/her colleagues
  • Collaborative in decision making

  • Built with a start-up mindset, hands on and knowing how to get things done
  • Capable of working in a cross-functional environment
  • Currently living in or near Amsterdam, Lisbon or willing to relocate

  • Education on the newest quality tools, testing methods and best practices.

  • Working occasionally in the other office in Amsterdam, while staying in our own apartment, also free to use for private trips
