The focus of the job is to maintain and improve financial efficiency and quality of Skype paid telephone services as well as managing the network of Skype’s telecom partners. You will become a member of an engineering team that runs daily operations of Skype telephone services and makes sure that:

• millions of telephone calls made from Skype never fail

• the network of international telecom partners is in its best shape to serve all that traffic

• the best-of-class service delivery and routing platform is constantly evolving to become even better


• Analyze call cost and quality data to detect abnormalities and identify optimization opportunities

• Come up with solutions - it may be an escalation to one of our external partners or another Skype team, a configuration change, a line of code (if you feel like writing one)

• Navigate telecom companies through their lifecycle as a member of Skype PSTN ecosystem

• Identify and propose potential improvements in the operational processes, services and tools

Main requirements

  • A quirk for data and business analysis

  • Understanding how databases work

  • A deeply analytical and technical mind

  • Excellent social and communication skills in English

Nice to have

  • Experience in service and business operations
  • Practical experience with customer and partner relations
  • Automation scripting/programming skills
  • Understanding of or experience with VoIP and SIP
