At James we want to bring the best of data science to every risk department by creating the first Credit Risk AI.

We are looking for a Product Designer to join our Product team. You will become part of a company that's constantly pushing technological and business boundaries, which creates both added value to the market and internal learning opportunities.

You are expected to have a strong UX background, working with product managers and engineers to deliver the best experience across our products and projects.


As a Product Designer you will:

  • Work with Product, Research and Credit Risk teams in order to understand the needs the product should address, and produce informed iterations of experience designs;
  • Participate and drive all stages of the product UX lifecycle, including product and feature ideation and definition, rapid prototyping, UI design and testing;
  • Effectively communicate design choices and strategies to all the necessary stakeholders;
  • Work closely with engineers to ensure that product implementation follows UX best practices.

Main requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working as a Product Designer;
  • Strong knowledge of UX and UI design, and ability to communicate these concepts to the team;
  • Strong knowledge of Information Architecture, Information Design and Data Visualization;
  • Solid experience with design and prototyping tools like Sketch, Balsamiq, Adobe Creative Suite apps, Invision, Principle, etc.
  • High-level knowledge of how a software product is built, in order to clearly understand whatever technical constraints and needs may exist;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Portuguese.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Agile (Scrum);
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, CSS frameworks like SASS or LESS, and basic Javascript;
  • Knowledge of Flexbox;
  • Graphic and Communication Design knowledge may be a plus.
