Our vision is simple.

About 3 million roadworks take place every year in England and Wales. roadworks.org, the national roadworks and traffic disruptions platform, is used on a daily basis by Traffic Management and Streetworks professionals to plan their works more efficiently, reduce costs and communicate disruptions to road users, businesses and residents.

We're a small team so we like to promote ownership and responsibility. Also, you'll be given enough freedom regarding technical decisions when implementing new functionalities, resting assured that you'll always have the support of other team members.

Our technical team is based in the UK and in Lisbon – fast becoming a leading technical centre for some of the brightest technology companies and developers in Europe. roadworks.org is based on the latest web technologies, hosted worldwide in the Amazon Cloud and our Agile environment offers the opportunity of working with some of the biggest names in the world of intelligent transport.

This specific position is for our Lisbon office where you'll enjoy working with other bright, tech-savvy people who like to work sensible hours.

We're looking for a Junior Developer with a taste for full-stack development. You'll be fully integrated into our development team, working on our products from end to end.

This role is for a person that is eligible for an IEFP program.

This means: this must be the first "job" as a software engineer/developer (recent graduate)

Main requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields
  • Understanding of the HTTP protocol
  • Some experience with backend development, more specifically with webservices
  • Some experience with frontend development, mainly with at least one JavaScript framework of choice

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in Java
  • Experience with Apache Camel
  • Experience with PostgreSQL
