We are now looking for a Big Data Engineer to join our team based in our HQ in Barcelona.

As a Big Data Engineer at eDreams ODIGEO you will:

  • Design and implement data architecture for eDreams in a sophisticated, scalable, maintainable way
  • Build pipelines to store the most important datasets in a denormalized, optimized fashion
  • Define and maintain the working environment and tools required by the team
  • Automate the training and production of machine learning models
  • Automate the whole processes and promote data processing and software engineering best practices and autonomy through the team and the company

Main requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience
  • At least 2 years of data engineering experience
  • Good knowledge of Java, Scala and Python
  • Proficiency in Spark and distributed computing systems
  • Experience in building complex data pipelines
  • Working experience with cloud platforms (AWS and Google Cloud Platform)
  • DevOps skills and knowledge
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Delivery
  • Written and oral communication skills (in English)

Nice to have

  • Experience on the following technologies would be a plus: Cassandra, Kafka, Flink and Kubernetes
