The Team

As a Lead Software Development Engineer, you will report to Jérôme Seguin, CEO, and founder of the company. You will work with a team of software engineers (3 + 1 to hire) to create, build and deploy new services, modules and functionalities for the internal product development roadmap and also solve client requests.

A week in the life of

20% daily team management

  • Top-down definition of priorities product roadmap vs client request resolution
  • Continuous collaborative support to the software engineers: ensure priorities are addressed and roadblocks lifted fast, develop team competencies and knowledge sharing, monitoring timely delivery -
  • End of day code review for a thorough application of the Agile methodology

60% software development

  • Engagement in a full software development agile life cycle
  • Product roadmap: produce code and test within agreed standards and timescales
  • Client request resolution: investigate and solve bugs, for new developments build technical design, produce code, test and implement

20% strategic vision

  • Ensure consistency of the framework, the architecture and the algorithms
  • Keep the software up-to-date by identifying advanced and adapted technologies and tools to be set up and integrated into Balsamo

Main requirements

- MS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- Management experience, 3+ years leading a software development team
- Fluency in JAVA/JAVA EE, 5+ years
- Good knowledge of Oracle SQL, Maven, JSF, Jboss, Eclipse & Primefaces
- Agile methodology experience, 4+ years professional experience in building large-scale, distributed enterprise software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Strong analytical skills to be proficient in analyzing highly complex issues and architectures and reducing them to practice.
- Rigorous, curious, precise and pragmatic software developer with high respect of quality and re-usability
- Fluent English & French
