Intro

Badi is a start-up based in Barcelona that is changing the way we search for rental property by connecting people who are looking for a room with people who are renting it in the easiest and most efficient way possible. In 2015 Badi received an award for the best app in Spain. The team is currently composed of 20 people and we are growing at turbo speed!

Our tech team is composed of 6 engineers: 3 full-stack, 1 iOS, 1 Android, 1 DevOps... and counting! More info about the team (in Spanish) here.

We are looking for a talented Android Engineer who is willing to join a new team with the goal of building the best mobile app for rental properties worldwide! If you are up for a new challenge in a fast-paced environment where performance and testing is of great importance, then this is the job for you.

As an Android Engineer at Badi you will:

  • Write high quality code to ship new features in our native mobile app
  • Refactor the existing code to improve the performance and maintainability
  • Manage the app delivery process (Play Store)
  • Monitor platform-related trends and new features

Main requirements

  • Technical university degree (e.g. BSc in computer science) or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience with native Android development (Android Studio + Java)
  • Knowledge of MVC / MVP design patterns, OOP and development best practices including, but not limited to, Clean Code, Dependency injection with Dagger, use of Retrofit, RxJava and AutoValue
  • A solid experience in writing native clients that are fully integrated with RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge of continuous delivery environments and experience in automated testing
  • Excellent teamwork skills, flexibility, and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Fluent in English (you must be able to communicate to your teammates with full professional proficiency in English)

Nice to have

  • Proven track records of apps published on the Play Store
  • Experience in building high performance systems
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Preferred: Ruby and Python)
  • Experience with A/B testing
  • Spanish/Catalan are a plus
