We are now opening an office in Porto and are looking for Software Developers to join our team of smart, highly motivated team members dedicated to working together to create a cleaner, more sustainable future.

This project is co-financed by Portugal 2020 under the Operational Programme for Competitiveness and Internationalization through the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER).

Tasks:

  • Assessing requirements, proposing techniques or technologies for accomplishing them;
  • Working with a cross-disciplinary group of computational biologists and software engineers to implement solutions.

Main requirements

  • Hold a masters or higher degree in quantitative discipline such as computer science, mathematics, computational biology, electrical engineering, bioengineering;
  • Be fluent in statistics, biology, and computer science;
  • Have proven experience in building scientific applications in Python, Java or R (or equivalent);
  • Have strong social skills;
  • Be pro-active, self-motivated and take ownership of tasks;
  • Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.

Nice to have

  • Are creativity, independent thinkers, and passionate
  • Have worked in large projects, with multiple contributors
  • Experience with software testing
  • Experience with distributed version control systems: Git, Mercurial or similar
  • Experience with Continuous Integration
  • Experience with Functional Programming
  • Experience with Relational Databases
  • Experience with Unix based operating systems
