Intro

We are looking for a Scrum Master to join our agile product development team.

As a Scrum Master you will be responsible for managing scrum teams and helping teams to leverage agile principles, practices and frameworks in order to deliver high value business capabilities.

Main responsibilities:

  • Serves and supports the Product Owner and development team, especially with respect to refining and managing the product backlog
  • Provides hands-on management and coaching of scrum teams in all aspects of scrum (facilitating daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective meetings, backlog grooming, daily routines, self-organization, collaboration, iterative development, managing flow, calculating velocity, limiting work in progress, etc.)
  • Assesses the maturity of the team and organization and coaches the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and appropriate for the team and organization
  • Ensures the team is practicing the core agile principles of self-direction, collaboration, business prioritization, team accountability, and transparency, toward the consistent delivery of working product
  • Ensures that release deliverables are clearly communicated to the team
  • Identifies risks and supports mitigation activities
  • Removes impediments that would prevent the team from achieving its sprint and release goals (internal and external to the team)
  • Ensures that retrospectives produce actionable tasks; follows through to ensure that recommendations are implemented successfully and in a timely manner
  • Facilitates discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Assists with internal and external communication, improves transparency, and radiates information
  • Reviews current agile processes, drives process improvements and challenges team to innovate
  • Remains informed about industry trends and best practices concerning agile methodologies and advances those best practices in the organization.

Main requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a ** Scrum Master** for a software development team (as a full-time responsibility)
  • Strong understanding of technology and software development
  • Proven experience using a range of agile project management methods (Scrum, Kanban, Lean)
  • Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity
  • Experience in matrix-managing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience working with multiple teams with tight deadlines
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills
  • You must be self-motivated, quick-thinking, and able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • You must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • You must be a world-class individual contributor. You will not be here just to tell other people what to do
